In May 2016 a study to assess the implementation of Directive 2000/53/EU on
end-of life vehicles (the ELV Directive) with emphasis on the end-of-life vehicles of unknown whereabouts was launched.

The European Commission approved and published the Final Report in the spring of 2018. The Final Report is available for download over the EC website.
